New 890cc V2 Engine

The biggest change is the new 890cc V2 engine with Intake Variable Timing (IVT). It produces around 111 hp at 9,000 rpm and 91.1 Nm of peak torque at 7,250 rpm.

Ducati says the new engine is 5.9 kg lighter than the previous engine and offers a much longer valve-clearance inspection interval of 45,000 km.

Lighter and More Agile

The new Monster uses an aluminium monocoque chassis, with the engine acting as a stressed member. The motorcycle weighs 175 kg without fuel, making it around 4 kg lighter than the previous-generation model.

The seat height has also been reduced to 815 mm, while Ducati has revised the riding position to make the bike more comfortable for everyday riding.

Features and Electronics

The 2026 Ducati Monster comes with a comprehensive electronics package controlled by a 6-axis IMU.

Key features include:

  • Cornering ABS
  • Ducati Traction Control
  • Wheelie Control
  • Engine Brake Control
  • Ducati Quick Shift 2.0
  • Four riding modes
  • 5-inch TFT display

The four riding modes are Sport, Road, Urban and Wet, allowing riders to adjust the motorcycle according to different road and riding conditions.

Premium Hardware

The new Monster gets a 43mm Showa USD front fork and rear monoshock. Braking is handled by Brembo hardware with twin 320mm front discs.

The motorcycle also runs on Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, adding to its sporty character.

2026 Ducati Monster Price in India

The standard Monster starts at ₹13.99 lakh, while the Monster+ starts at ₹14.34 lakh, both ex-showroom.

The top-spec Monster+ with Iceberg White or Sport Livery costs ₹14.45 lakh. The Monster+ additionally gets a headlight cowl and passenger-seat cover.

Final Word

The 2026 Ducati Monster is a major update rather than just a cosmetic refresh. With its new 890cc V2 engine, lower weight, advanced electronics and premium hardware, Ducati has made its iconic naked motorcycle more modern and easier to live with.

At ₹13.99 lakh, the new Monster will appeal mainly to premium motorcycle enthusiasts looking for performance, technology and Ducati's distinctive Italian design.
