Triumph Reveals New Moto2 Engine for 2027 with more power and lower weight

 Triumph has revealed its new Moto2 race engine for the 2027 season, bringing more power, stronger torque and a lower overall weight. The British manufacturer has been the official Moto2 engine supplier since 2019.

The new engine produces around 6% more peak power than the current unit. Triumph has also made several important changes, including a new cylinder head, redesigned valvetrain, higher-flow ports and a revised combustion chamber to improve overall performance.

Another major update is the weight reduction. The new engine is around 2kg lighter, which should help improve the handling and balance of Moto2 motorcycles. The new engine will also lead to redesigned chassis for the 2027 race bikes.

Triumph says its development work has been supported by almost 1.93 million kilometres of Moto2 racing data collected since 2019. The company has used this experience to improve performance, reliability and power delivery.

While the new engine is designed specifically for Moto2 racing, Triumph's racing programme has previously influenced the development of its road motorcycles. However, the company has not confirmed whether technology from this particular engine will directly appear in a future production bike.
