Triumph Motorcycles has officially unveiled the new Bonneville T40 and T40 Black, bringing its iconic British classic design to the company’s modern 400cc motorcycle family.
The new T40 is powered by a 400cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 32 PS at 7,000 rpm and 36 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. The engine has been specially tuned for the Bonneville T40 to deliver strong low- and mid-range performance.
Classic Design With Modern Technology
The T40 retains traditional Bonneville styling with a teardrop fuel tank, round headlight, spoked wheels, twin rear shocks and a classic bench seat. The T40 Black gets a darker treatment with blacked-out components and a Matt Pewter Grey and Matt Phantom Black colour scheme.
Despite its retro appearance, the motorcycle gets modern technology including a 4-inch colour TFT display, smartphone connectivity, navigation, five riding modes, cruise control and lean-sensitive cornering ABS and traction control.
The motorcycle has a 790mm seat height and a ready-to-ride weight of 191kg, while an optional low seat reduces the height to 770mm.
Launch and Availability
Triumph says pricing for the Bonneville T40 and T40 Black will be announced in early 2027, with the first motorcycles expected to reach dealerships from spring 2027.
With the T40, Triumph is combining its classic Bonneville design with a modern 400cc platform, giving riders a smaller and more technology-focused entry point into the Bonneville family.
