KTM's Next-Generation Motorcycles: 2027 Lineup Brings Smarter Technology, Better Comfort and More Performance

KTM 2027 motorcycle lineup featuring new Adventure and Super Duke models with improved technology, cruise control, upgraded displays, better braking and automatic shifting at EICMA 2026

The motorcycle industry is preparing for another exciting year, and KTM is making its move with an updated 2027 motorcycle lineup. Ahead of EICMA 2026 in Milan, the Austrian manufacturer has revealed several updates across its Adventure, Naked and Off-road motorcycle families.

Rather than completely replacing its existing motorcycles, KTM is focusing on making its popular models more practical, comfortable and technologically advanced. The changes include cruise control availability on the 390 Adventure R, an improved touchscreen display for the 1390 Super Duke range, upgraded braking components and an automatic transmission option for the Super Duke GT EVO.

These updates show that KTM wants to make its motorcycles more capable on everyday roads as well as during long-distance touring and demanding riding conditions.

2027 KTM 390 Adventure R Gets Cruise Control

One of the most interesting updates comes to the KTM 390 Adventure R. For 2027, the motorcycle receives an updated left-hand switchgear that allows riders to activate optional cruise control.

Cruise control is particularly useful during long highway journeys, where maintaining a steady speed can reduce the effort required from the rider. It is a welcome feature in the lightweight adventure motorcycle category, especially for people who regularly travel long distances.

The 390 Adventure X is also getting an update after EICMA 2026. KTM has confirmed two new colour options and a TFT display for this version, with availability expected from January 2027.

KTM 1390 Super Duke R Gets Better Technology

The KTM 1390 Super Duke R and its EVO version remain among the most exciting motorcycles in the company's naked-bike family.

For 2027, both models receive an upgraded 8.8-inch touchscreen TFT dashboard with a cleaner and faster user interface. New handlebar switchgear is also included to make controlling the motorcycle's functions more intuitive.

Another important improvement comes in the braking department. KTM has announced an updated Brembo HyPure caliper setup, designed to deliver improved braking performance.

These changes may not completely transform the motorcycle's character, but they make an already powerful naked bike more refined and user-friendly.

1390 Super Duke GT EVO Introduces Automatic Shifting

KTM is also bringing attention to its sport-touring category with the 2027 1390 Super Duke GT and GT EVO.

The Super Duke GT has been significantly developed compared with the previous generation. It combines the performance of the Super Duke platform with features designed for longer journeys.

Some of its important features include:

  • An 8.8-inch touchscreen TFT dashboard with offline onboard map navigation.
  • An adjustable windscreen for better wind protection.
  • An integrated SP Connect mount.
  • Improved seat comfort for long-distance riding.

The more advanced 1390 Super Duke GT EVO takes things further by offering KTM's Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).

This system gives riders the option of selecting gears manually or allowing the motorcycle to shift automatically. It removes the need to operate a conventional clutch lever, potentially making traffic riding and long journeys more convenient.

The Super Duke GT range is expected to reach dealerships in early 2027.

Updates Across KTM's Off-Road and Supermoto Range

KTM has not forgotten riders who prefer lightweight and off-road-focused motorcycles.

The 2027 KTM 390 SMC R and 390 Enduro R will return with refreshed styling and new colour options. Both motorcycles continue to target riders looking for an exciting combination of road performance and off-road capability.

The entry-level 125 SMC and 125 Enduro are also returning with new colour schemes. These motorcycles will continue to serve riders interested in supermoto and dual-sport riding.

Meanwhile, the 790 Adventure continues into 2027 with a refreshed appearance. A new black colour option replaces the previous orange and white choices.

KTM Is Preparing More Off-Road Technology

There may be more to KTM's 2027 plans than the updates already announced.

The company has confirmed that it will share exclusive information about new technology developed specifically for off-road riding during its EICMA 2026 press conference. KTM has also promised a special surprise from its off-road division.

However, the manufacturer has not yet revealed the details of this technology or the surprise. These developments could offer an interesting look at the direction KTM wants to take with its future adventure and off-road motorcycles.

The official presentation is scheduled for November 3, 2026, at 10:45 AM CET at KTM's stand in Hall 22, Booth E08, in Milan.

What Does KTM's 2027 Lineup Mean for Motorcycle Riders?

KTM's latest announcements show that the company is paying attention to how people actually use their motorcycles.

Adventure riders are getting more convenience through cruise control, naked-bike enthusiasts are getting improved displays and braking hardware, while sport-touring riders now have the option of automated gear shifting.

These changes are also important for KTM as it continues developing its motorcycle business and strengthening its position in the global market.

The 2027 lineup is not simply about producing more powerful engines or aggressive designs. It is also about improving the riding experience through useful technology.

With EICMA 2026 just around the corner, KTM's upcoming off-road technology reveal could be one of the most interesting developments to watch. Motorcycle enthusiasts will be waiting to see what else the Austrian manufacturer has planned for the future.
