Adelaide is getting ready for a new era of MotoGP racing.
The city has officially unveiled the street circuit that will host the Australian Grand Prix from 2027, replacing the iconic Phillip Island venue.

The new circuit will take MotoGP racing into the streets of Adelaide, giving fans a completely different experience from the traditional Australian Grand Prix.

A Fast 4.13 km Circuit

Adelaide MotoGP circuit layout with 15 corners

The Adelaide MotoGP circuit measures 4.13 km and features 15 corners. The layout combines fast sections with tight corners and heavy braking zones, creating plenty of challenges for MotoGP riders.

The track also uses parts of Adelaide’s historic motorsport roads, bringing some familiar names and sections back into the spotlight.

MotoGP bikes are expected to reach speeds of around 343 km/h on the fastest part of the circuit, making braking and rider control especially important.

Phillip Island Era Comes to an End

The Australian Grand Prix has been closely associated with Phillip Island for decades, but that relationship will change from 2027.

Unlike the open and flowing Phillip Island circuit, Adelaide will give MotoGP a more urban setting. Riders will race through city streets and parkland areas, creating a very different atmosphere for both competitors and spectators.

The event is expected to become more than just a race weekend, with Adelaide aiming to turn the MotoGP round into a major city-wide motorsport event.

A New Challenge for MotoGP Riders

Street circuits leave less room for mistakes, and Adelaide's combination of high-speed sections and heavy braking could make the race particularly demanding.

The real test, however, will come when MotoGP riders finally take to the circuit in 2027. Until then, the newly revealed layout has already created plenty of interest around the championship.

With Adelaide set to host MotoGP through 2032, the Australian Grand Prix is about to enter a completely new chapter.
