Royal Enfield has recorded another strong month of sales, selling 1,26,479 motorcycles in August 2026. The figure represents an 11% year-on-year increase compared with the 1,14,002 motorcycles sold in August last year.
The growth was mainly supported by the Indian market. Royal Enfield sold 1,14,204 motorcycles domestically, up 11% from 1,02,876 units a year earlier. Exports also increased by 10% to 12,275 units.
350cc Motorcycles Lead the Growth
The biggest positive for Royal Enfield came from its smaller-engine motorcycle range. Models up to 350cc, along with EVs, recorded sales of 1,13,143 units, registering a strong 15% growth over August 2025.
However, motorcycles above 350cc moved in the opposite direction. Sales in this category fell 13% to 13,336 units during the month.
This shows that Royal Enfield's more accessible models continue to attract strong demand, while the larger-capacity segment is facing some pressure.
Strong Start to FY2027
Royal Enfield's overall performance for the April-August period also remains positive. The company sold 5,75,138 motorcycles during the first five months of FY2027, up 23% from 4,67,575 units during the same period last year.
Domestic sales during this period jumped 28% to 5,20,695 units, although exports declined 9% to 54,443 units.
Royal Enfield also introduced the Classic 350 Gorkha Edition in India and Nepal during August and updated the Continental GT 650 with new features and design changes.
With the festive season approaching, the company expects the strong sales momentum to continue in the coming months.
Royal Enfield's August numbers show that demand for its motorcycles remains strong, particularly in the 350cc segment. The 11% overall growth also gives the company a positive start to the upcoming festive season, although the decline in larger-engine motorcycles remains an area to watch.
